Abstract :
To mitigate the small-scale fading of the backscatter RFID channel, this paper presents a new signaling scheme for multiple-antenna RF tag. The scheme is based on high data rate (HDR) Alamouti code from field extension, which has better coding gain than conventional Alamouti space-time block codes (STBC). Simulation results show the performance advantage of the new signaling scheme over the previously proposed one based on conventional Alamouti STBC when they operate at the same bit rate.
