Abstract
In this paper, the storage management system is developed according to the Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM), so it is able to greatly relieve the management burden. Furthermore, a well-known standard named Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) is adopted in order to unify the storage management for different storage devices. In order to satisfy the Service-Level Objectives (SLO) and achieve optimal storage allocation, a simple Optimal Capacity Allocation (OCA) algorithm is proposed. As a result, the WBEM-based storage management system not only guarantees the user data with desired performance metrics but also support maximum storage utilization. Finally, a case study is used to represent the development results.
