Abstract :
Communication of any mode in the modern days is effective only the nodes in the network should be completely away from physical connection in the form of wireless manner. Particularly for short range of communication, Bluetooth is the best option. While using the Bluetooth scatternet, security is the major concern, since the range limitation of piconet causes network depth. This paper illustrates the development of an enhanced security framework for Bluetooth Scatternet Networks among interoperable components is the vital one for any securable environment. The basic security architecture of Bluetooth, operating at the link layer, is augmented with a higher application layer security mechanism for authentication and message integrity. This is necessary, since the present Bluetooth piconet security has certain drawbacks in its implementation making it insecure. The use of digital signatures and trusted or certified public keys form the basic premise and approach in this work in providing stronger security for Scatternet Network. The result shows that in most instances, the RSA performed better, while using RSA and DSA encryption algorithms for security framework of Bluetooth Scatternet.
