Abstract :
Localization is an essential task for many applications in wireless sensor networks. In this paper, a novel wireless sensor self-localization algorithm is proposed. The algorithm selects the best geometric layout and introduces an improved Least Square (LS) estimator and iterative process which can significantly mitigate the Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) error, without knowing the covariance of measurement noise. Simulation results show the algorithm can provide better performance in comparison to the existing range-based schemes even under severe NLOS error environments.
