Abstract :
Agriculture is becoming a most important area for the researches everywhere in the world. Since agriculture is a complex process, resources are masted through various kinds of mal practices and improper management techniques. To succeed this whole process need lot of expertise knowledge and proper communication channel among the stakeholders. This paper reports on the design and implementation of ´AgroAgent´, a multi agent system that emulates a full-fledged mechanism to solve the problems faced by farmers where the services of the experts and efficient linkage between other parties (suppliers, crop buyers, etc.) are not available. AgroAgent has been structured with five agents namely, Message Agent, Interface Agent, User Profile Agent, Crop Management Agent, and Selling Agent. The Message Agent plays a key role in guiding the other agents and Interface Agent displays and distributes the information in a suitable form for the user whereas User Profiler Agent creates individual user profiles according to individual preferences. Crop Management and Selling Agent are the main two agents who make decisions using external and internal information. AgroAgent has been developed on JADE environment and can connect via web access.
