Abstract
Landscape pattern analysis is the basis of landscape ecological assessment, programming, management and construction. From three aspects, this article analyzes the landscape pattern change of Yarkant irrigated area in recent 20 years and forecast the future tendency. Firstly, the LUCC (Land-Use and Land-Cover Change) is obtained from TM images. Secondly, the landscape pattern change is indicated from Fragstats 3.3 software. Finally, using Markov forecast model the trend of LUCC in 5 years is predicted. The results show: 1) the construction land and cultivated land increase remarkably with the reinforcement of irrigation works; 2) the patches´ degree of fragmentation becomes higher and all types have uniform distribution.
