Abstract :
In order to get a better solution of the network video data transmission problem, a method for transmission of the network abstraction layer(NALU) over OFDM based on wavelet packet transform(WPT) is presented in the paper. For the current requirements of video streaming, the method gives different OFDM parameters according to the amount of datas in each NALU extracted from the compressed stream, so as to achieve the transmission of NALU independently. Conventional OFDM system utilizes cyclic prefix to mitigate inter-symbol interference (ISI), however it leads to spectral inefficiency. WPT is used in the paper instead of conventional DFT to improve the performance of OFDM system. Simulation results show that the system designed has lower bit error rate than traditional OFDM system under the same channel condition. Transmission of NALU based on WPT-OFDM can not only effectively solve the conflicts between ISI and spectral efficiency, but also better meet the requirement of streaming media transmission at present.
