Abstract :
We proposed and manufactured a swing arm type dual stage pick-up actuator for near field recording. A voice coil motor (VCM) is used as coarse actuator and a PZT block to generate fine motion. Optimal design of VCM part is carried out to maximize driving force. The two-layer PZT fine actuator is used to reduce the maximum operating voltage.
