Abstract
Mesh generation is a fundamental and important problem in geometric data modeling and processing. In many scientific and engineering tasks that involves numerical computation/simulations on 3D dimensional regions or objects, tessellating the data into hexahedral (hex) meshes are preferred over the commonly used tetrahedral (tet) meshes. This paper gave a brief survey of a few recent hex mesh generation algorithms. These algorithms are categorized into three types, following which we provide a comparison and discussion on these methods.
