Abstract :
This paper aims at contributing to the global effort in tackling the obesity problem through introducing a mobile diet assistant application (myPDA) that improves the awareness of balanced diets, encourages following healthy plans and promotes increasing exercise levels. The assistant was developed as an Arabic Android application for mobile devices. The preliminary testing of the application, indicated promising results and we hope that myPDA can contribute to the preservation of public health by combating obesity.
