Abstract :
A weighted decision feedback equalizer (WDFE) is presented. This DFE does not suffer from the error propagation phenomenon as the classical DFE does. This equalizer employs a device which computes a reliability value (i.e. a probability value for taking the right decision). Two different means which use this value in such a way as not to decide errors in the feedback loop are described. The equalizer has been tested over several channels and convincing performances are presented. In addition, this WDFE offers very good performances in blind mode operation
