Abstract
Distributed computing architectures and technologies have reached the point of maturity such that they are being applied to network management for the evolving broadband network and the services that it provides. The telecommunication network providers´ reasons for using distributed computing and management within a telecommunication management network (TMN) framework are listed, the computing and management technologies they are using are described, and the architectures being put into place are outlined
