Abstract :
This report is a part of the results of a research project in a one-semester seminar class given to the MS degree graduate students here at Loyola Marymount University. In this research project, the analysis of the noise at the output of a delay discriminator used in FM communication system was performed. It was found that the nonlinear noise output could be approximated by a wide-sense-stationary Gaussian random process, and its statistical properties such as the probability density and spectral density were investigated and obtained. The simulation of the BER behavior of the digital communications was also performed.
