Abstract
This study has investigated the possibility of monitoring mass averaged specific absorption rate (SAR) in mobile phone production by use of free-space H-field measurements. Measurements on 100 units of the Ericsson mobile phone model R380world showed that the correlation between the SAR in a head phantom and the squared maximum free-space H-field above the phone was greater than 0.78. Hence, simple H-field measurements could be used in mobile phone production for monitoring the SAR.
