  • Abstract
A new generation of protection schemes for application to the Eskom electrical network is currently being introduced into the organization. The new protection schemes focus on two key aspects, namely a technological move to the use of microprocessor-based equipment, and an approach which facilitates the co-ordination of the protection with an integrated control system. The author describes Eskom´s approach to the introduction of the new generation of protection schemes
