Abstract :
Elliptical horn antennas radiation patterns are generally evaluated by numerical integration. In this work we present a novel, exact, closed-form formula for the far-field computation of elliptical horn antennas mounted on an infinite flange plane. The range of applicability of the proposed formula is also investigated in the practical relevant case of a finite flange, by comparison with results obtained with the Generalized Multipole Technique (GMT) approach.
