Abstract
Focusing on multicast transmission in a CDMA based 3G system, we address a soft-combine zone configuration. Finding the unique characteristic on neighboring locations of soft-combine supporting cells, we formulate a mathematical program maximizing the benefit of soft-combining in multicast transmission. The solution shows the efficient soft-combine zone configurations, which demonstrates the effects of cohesion on the data stream among neighboring cells.
