Abstract
Phenomena, which accompany focusing femtosecond light packets in transparent condensed media, are widely investigated in recent decade. The main subjects of interest include damage of optical materials, filamentation of the light beam and subsequent variations in temporal structure and spectrum of the light pulse, as well as the possibility of using such variations for the pulse compression. Usually the energy, duration and spectrum of pulses are explored in experiments, while theoretical studies consider parameters of radiation on the beam axis, but not their distribution over beam cross section and along propagation directions.
