Abstract
Many novel rf and microwave nonreciprocal devices exploit the gyromagnetic property of ferrites. Similar principles should also be applicable to those materials with gyroelectric property such as semiconductors according to the Drude model. The work reported here concerns a very simple structure, that is a two-port axially magnetised semiconductor disk. Assuming no axial variation in the electromagnetic field and adopting the Green´s function analysis approach, the S-parameters of the resonator are derived. The theoretical frequency response of an Indium Antimonide disk cooled to 77 K is presented. The sharpness and location of the peaks in the insertion response of the resonator are observed to be material dependent. This method provides a way to calibrate the semiconductor materials and to verify the model. It may prove to be the vital help in the realisation of a three-port semiconductor junction circulator for high-Tc superconductivity circuits
