Abstract :
This paper demonstrates more than a factor of 150 enhancement of second-harmonic generation from an all-dielectric, unfunctionalized, and thereby lossless resonant waveguide grating (RWG). Polarization dependence of the enhancement suggests that the origin of the enhancement is a favorable interaction of the resonant mode with the inherent surface nonlinearity of the dielectric material.
