Abstract :
Active antenna receiver for digital beamforming (DBF) array antenna at 8.45GHz for next generation wireless telecommunication is presented. This proposed system implement calibration circuit for restraint of phase and amplitude unbalance among array branches. We also describe active patch antenna with amplifier and near zero IF mixer for receiving DBF. We also examine this proposed receiver´s ability to function as a digital beam former. In this result, the digital beam forming can be realized that side lobe level is below ¿3 dB and the half power beam width is about 70°, in case of scanning range is limited ±30° by using two proposed receivers. The ability of this receiver is almost same that of common receivers using isotopic antenna. It is sufficient for this high-speed wireless communication application.
