Abstract
Single electron devices (SED) are promising for future ULSI technology because of their ultra low power consumption, higher density of integration and switching speed. Structure of SED is based on the discrete nature of electrons tunneling through thin potential barriers. The ultimate goal of this work is to venture one possible way of using electron-tunneling devices instead of conventional MOS transistors to design and simulate an automatic tea/coffee vending system. The proposed vending machine will establish a good approximation for the limits and challenges that ever-shrinking circuits will meet eventually, when the size of the components become comparable to that of electrons.
