A fully integrated computer-based system for distribution control room operations

The system described will soon go into operational use as the primary means for control of Eastern Electricity´s 132 kV, 33 kV and 11 kV distribution network. Control will normally be exercised from a single large control centre but can also be effected from a small emergency control centre. Sections 2 and 3 outline Eastern Electricity´s distribution business and the preparations which were made for procurement of the new system. The system itself is described in Section 4. Section 5 discusses the initial level of system integration, and plans for further integration are outlined in Section 6. Present conclusions are noted in Section 7
