Abstract :
Based on the eight forces framework and a construct of motivation to protect existing resources, this paper specifies the intervening motivational mechanisms that link on-the-job embeddedness to employees´ intensions to stay and identifies affective forces and motivation to protect existing resources as both mediators in the relationship between on-the-job embeddedness and intentions to stay.
