Abstract :
A method of signal processing in an airborne TWS (Tracking While Scan) information processing system is presented in this paper. The dual-threshold-detection method is proposed which will considerably reduce the number of samples requiring to store without reducing the detection performance and parametric estimation accuracy of targets. The distributed parallel processor architecture of three computers is adopted which makes the functions of the system including signal processing programmable. The results obtained from experiments for the system in laboratory environment show that higher detection probability and lower false-alarm probability are achieved with this algorithm of signal processing, and the whole system can work well in real time which is guaranteed by the architecture designed. The accuracy of parametric estimation and the performance of detection are satisfied for the demands of multiple target tracking
