  • Abstract
This paper gives a closed-form evaluation of the spectrum of the pulse interval modulated (PIM) signal. In particular, we take into account the issue of “stationarization” (in the strict sense) of a PIM signal, which is a necessary task, preliminary to that of spectral analysis. This aspect was never considered in the literature and gives deeper insight into the nature of PIM signals. The solution to both these problems (stationarization and closed-form evaluation of the spectrum) lies upon the theory of variable-length vector-valued random processes
