Abstract :
The capacity and coverage gains from soft quantized parallel interference cancellation (SQ-PIC) in the 3GPP uplink are assessed. We derive analytical expressions for the required Eb/N0, capacity and coverage with intercell interference. The SQ-PIC receiver is described and its performance is evaluated in an isolated cell. These performance figures are used to evaluate capacity and coverage gains with intercell interference.
