Title :
The Integrated Materials Management System: a hazardous materials management program
Abstract :
National concern regarding the threats posed by hazardous materials to communities and the environment has resulted in strict regulations. In an effort to assist both DoD and commercial customers in complying with these regulations, Modern Technologies Corporation has developed the Integrated Materials Management System (IMMS) for effective monitoring and control of hazardous materials and hazardous waste. Initially developed for use at the Materials Directorate at Wright-Patterson AFB, the IMMS integrates a computerized hazardous materials information program with bar code technology to provide an effective hazardous materials management system. Prior to the implementation of the IMMS, Modern Technologies analyzed the existing programs and processes within the Materials Directorate and identified the areas needing process improvement
