Abstract :
The evolution of vibrating cylinder pressure transducer technology within the author´s organisation is described. Developed primarily for Military Air Data Systems applications, a series of design optimisations carried out since the 1980s has enabled a wider range of civil aerospace and ground based test equipment applications to be addressed. Such diversifications require consideration not only of the technical feasibility and economic viability of addressing such markets, but also of complex issues such as compatibility with company philosophy, manufacturing systems and sales and marketing delivery channels
