Abstract :
The performance of a retrodirective array composed of planar antenna elements of various shapes providing circular polarization (CP) is simulated in this paper. High CP purity over a wide angular range and large frequency bandwidth are the target parameters of the design optimization. Typical properties and limitations of CP retrodirective arrays are discussed for the first time. Experimental validation will be reported in the full paper.
