  • Abstract
To reduce the cost and complexity of receiver without losing much diversity gain, we propose an antenna selection scheme for MIMO systems employing non-constant envelope mapping. By detection of the received signal and a simplified process without any knowledge of channel statement information, this scheme can approach the ideal selection strategy. Single carrier system and STC-OFDM (space-time-code orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) system with Alamouti STBC (space time block code) are both considered. Theoretical analysis and simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme provides significant diversity gain with fairly low complexity.
