Abstract :
The voice virtual private network (VPN) is a telecommunication service, running in the intelligent network. This paper presents the work to build an IP-based VPN AS (application server). The VPN AS is located in an IP network, communicating with a gatekeeper for the call control. Different types of terminals can access the VPN service in the AS via the gatekeeper system, the VPN AS consists of a service framework, a VPN service, a database and a management server, those components in the VPN AS are implemented in Java. The VPN AS can be expanded to add more traditional services, enable the distribution of services, become an open platform, and provide e-commerce functions
