Abstract
Two structures capable of electromagnetic cloaking of metal objects within wide frequency bands are studied with commercial time-domain simulation software CST Microwave Studio. Previously these structures have been studied only with frequency domain simulations, thus limiting the analysis of the scattering behavior. In order to analyze the cloaking efficiency of the structures against pulse excitations, the cloaked and uncloaked objects are illuminated with plane waves that have the Gaussian pulse shape both in frequency and in time. It is shown that the both cloaks can effectively reduce the scattering from metallic objects also in case of pulse excitations.
