Abstract :
Partial discharge (PD) measurement has long been recognised as an important part of quality control for high voltage equipment. The electrical measurement of partial discharges, which has significantly grown in importance, is the main theme of this paper. In a research program undertaken at RMIT an alternative method using current transducers to sense the PD signal is being investigated. In particular, its applicability for on-line/on-site measurements is emphasised
