Abstract
A stable and optimal overall performance is always the target for any process engine. In this paper, we introduced a dynamic matrix control based service process engine. It is built on the Jini platform and employs Jini services to provide functions for a service process engine. The process engine will estimate each client request workload by a heuristic algorithm. According to the estimated workload tag for each request and the runtime overall performance of the engine, a configuration controller based on dynamic matrix control can implement the dynamic self-configuration of the process engine in order to maintain an optimal and stable overall performance.
