Abstract
Solution design trends in cloud computing challenge the application architecture of the past decade. These trends were born from a confluence of evolving technologies that have radically redefined the characteristics we can expect of a solution-the software, infrastructure, management, and operations. This paper reviews five principles that can help practitioners make thoughtful design decisions that accelerate the journey to cloud computing.
