Abstract
This paper investigates solutions to improvement of realistic rendering quality of CG (Computer Graphics) character face. In order to manipulate face skin feature distribution, based on bio-anatomic structure, skin surface is classified into 3 layers (Internal, Regular and Local layer) to control skin base color, surface cellular venation level and noise distribution like freckle, respectively. Moreover, for the feature best re-targeting from real human to virtual character, a new face segmentation method is introduced by analyzing and overlaying the appropriate feature to the deserved area. By doing all above, a specific transformation from real human face skin data to virtual character is proposed which is meaningful for the synthesis of CG texture.
