Abstract :
The thermal step-a new method-is used to measure the space charge and electric field remaining distributions in insulating materials. The authors present some results on polar and nonpolar materials with different thicknesses and different geometries for various polarizations. Coupling this technique with thermo-stimulated currents, it is possible to characterize the nature and the origin of the space charge
