Abstract :
The error performance of asynchronous fast frequency hopped spread-spectrum multiple-access (FFH SSMA) M-ary FSK systems over a multipath Rayleigh channel was previously analyzed only for some special cases. We derive the system performance under much more general conditions taking both multiple access and multipath interference into account and allowing the intended user to be hit by at most one other user in a hop duration. On the basis of the theoretical performance, we consider the issue of system optimization under some practical constraints, ending up with some useful rules for system design
