Abstract :
This paper presents the design, fabrication of a wideband dual-polarized linearly tapered slot antenna (LTSA). The dual-polarized LTSA element is designed by two monopole LTSA vertical cross placement. A new variant of the LTSA with metallic and resistive loading is proposed. The dual-polarized LTSA has a wide impedance bandwidth (from 1.16GHz to 3.0GHz for VSWR less than 2.0) and isolation between the input ports is over 20dB. Moreover, the cross-polarization is seen to less than -15dB. Measured results primarily agree with the simulation theory. This type of antenna can be used as an element of array in many applications.
