Abstract :
In this paper three linearization methods of power amplifier (PA) amplitude response (AM/AM characteristic) are considered: predistortion, gate bias control and supply voltage control of the LDMOS transistor-based PA. For all three cases functional dependences of input voltage, gate bias voltage and supply voltage, which allow one to linearize amplitude response, are determined, and also are found to result in phase-to-amplitude response (AM/PM characteristic) which the phase corrector should compensate. All three methods are compared on efficiency, consumed power, dissipated power and IMD3 level.
