Abstract
A Yb:KYW femtosecond laser pumped by single-mode fiber Bragg grating stabilized laser diodes is built and characterized. The output spectrum of the laser and the continuum obtained after broadening in nonlinear microstructured fiber, normalized to different scales were measured and presented. The resulting octave-spanning spectrum, with peaks at 675 nm and 1350 nm, should enable measurement of the carrier-envelope offset frequency and self-referencing.
