Abstract
This paper describes a new kind of FEC - turbo product codes (TPC) - to be applied in satellite channels. The paper includes model description of TPC decoder and comparison of performance of TPC and well-known FEC codes. Some methods of block synchronization and phase ambiguity correction for BPSK/QPSK signaling are offered. Also the authors discuss the realization of TPC decoder on DSP and FPGA.
