Abstract :
The Fast Planar-3D solver presented on the last Eucap-Conference was equipped with further features in the meantime, making it even more versatile and accurate than comparable commercial Planar-3D EM-solvers. One approach comprises the use of volume basis functions to account for the finite lateral extension of practical multilayer environments, another feature is combined with metallic loss modeling using space-varying surface impedances and an automatic reference line length determination e.g. in context with the design of differential phase shifters incorporated in so-called modeformer-structures in stripline technique.
