  • Abstract
This paper deals with the application of a new excitation system for synchronous generators terminal voltage regulation. The proposed excitation system is based on the control of the main SG and the exciter machine (dual control). A comparison between the proposed structure and the system with single control is presented. The main advantage of the dual control is the reduction of losses in the exciter machine. Implementation in a real time domain is performed. Experimental results are presented and discussed.
