Abstract
The paper deals with the problem of the design of the main FPGA-cell blocks with current-mode gates - novel digital gates operating with constant, continuous power supply current. Using proposed approaches to design digital current-mode circuits, current-mode prototypes of several digital circuits and the Spartan II slice are elaborated. The obtained circuits are characterized by smaller hardware overheads and switching noise levels in comparison with the similar circuits based on the classical voltage type of gates. It proves the possibility of the realization of a field programmable mixed analog-digital array on a single die.
