Abstract
The paper presents OntoGlue, an ontology-based mechanism for assembling learning objects. This mechanism introduces the concept of associated knowledge, which represents the set of requirements that a learning object needs in order to be used and a set of competencies that the learning object provides after its comprehension. According OntoGlue, in order to assemble two learning objects, the requirements of one learning object must be covered by the competencies of the other. In addition, to facilitate interoperability between different domains (vocabularies), the concepts that conforms the associated knowledge are selected among the classes of educational ontologies.
