Abstract
A new standardization method, using decreasing current cycles around the desired magnetic field B/sub */, is discussed which seems to have many advantages over the old scheme using one of the outer branches of the hysteresis loop. Experimental measurements have demonstrated the quick and good reproducibility and enhanced stability of the new method. The next step would apply some of these advantages to critical SLC (or other accelerator) magnets.<>
