Abstract
In this paper, single-balanced diode mixer using defected ground structure (DGS) for harmonic-suppression is presented. Frequency bandwidth is selected for wireless LAN range applications, which is 2.412-2.484 GHz for RF, 2.132-2.204 GHz for LO, and 280 MHz for IF signals. A quadrature-hybrid is designed for the accomplishment of the single-balanced type of mixer. A DGS used for good conventional loss and suppressed unwanted harmonics. The measured performances of fabricated circuit conventionalize to the simulated results and exhibit 7.83 dB conversion loss with LO signal power 3 dBm at 2.168 GHz and suppressed unwanted harmonics better than 20 dB
