Abstract :
This paper focuses on an efficient use of resource in wireless transmission. In systems beyond third generation (3G), a mix of services with different requirements is expected. Thus, in this paper, a scheduling algorithm is proposed to guarantee quality of service (QoS) for multi-traffic services in WCDMA networks. The scheme is based on the typical proportional fairness (PF) scheduler but is implemented by a new scheduling strategy for maintaining the target qualities with priority levels according to traffic classes. It is applied in high speed down-link packet access (HSDPA) system specified by release 5 within 3GPP and the performance is assessed by system level simulations
